Are you looking for some camping gear or activewear? Then Moosejaw might be perfect for you!

Known for wacky advertising, Moosejaw has built a solid customer base through the years thanks to its quirkiness and clever jokes. Just reading through its website will probably give you a laugh!

However, there have been some recent complaints regarding its customer service and shipping methods. This is why I’ve made up my mind to dig deeper into the brand and see if it’s worth a shot. So, if you’ve been asking yourself, “Is Moosejaw legit?” then I’m here to answer that.

Is Moosejaw Legit?

Moosejaw is definitely a legitimate website since it has a lot of reviews on Trustpilot and other similar websites. However, most of the reviews and ratings are quite dismal, indicating that customers aren’t all that happy with it. One of the most commonly reported problems is the lack of customer support.

What Is Moosejaw?

Moosejaw is a popular brand that sells activewear and sports gear, and its products are available online and in physical stores. It also carries things from more than 400 brands that are well-known for manufacturing sports clothing.

A few of the brands featured by Moosejaw are Marmot, Arc’teryx, Patagonia, Black Diamond, and The North Face. They sell an assortment of gear for camping and hiking, climbing, cycling, skiing and snowboarding, swimming, yoga, and even snow sports.

Who Owns Moosejaw?

Bill Schulman, David Jaffe, and Robert Wolfe worked as teachers and wilderness guides before selling camping gear. So, in 1992, they inaugurated their first store in Keego Harbor, Michigan, and a year later, they opened a shop in East Lansing.

Over the next ten years, they expanded from Michigan to Chicago and scaled up their business significantly. In 2007, Parallel Investment Partners, which is a private equity firm operating out of Dallas, invested in them. Then, again in 2009 and 2013, Moosejaw went through further stake acquisitions.

Fast-forward to 2017, and Walmart acquired Moosejaw for 51 million dollars!

Is Moosejaw Shipping Fast?

Moosejaw offers different shipping speeds for different rates, and it even has expedited one-day shipping available, which costs $28.95. The shipping charges drop as the shopping time goes up; however, the maximum time taken by Moosejaw to deliver its goods is around a week.

Do note that this time specification excludes the weekend and any Federal US holidays.

Moosejaw offers international shipping, too, and it even waives off the shipping charges if the order value is high enough. It can take up to two weeks for the products to reach international customers; however, Moosejaw doesn’t ship to every country, and a list of the countries it does ship to can be found on its website.

Unfortunately, the shipping policies have been the subject of some criticism. As per some reviews, if the customer decides to send the product back and ask for a refund, Moosejaw mandates that the customer pay the shipping charges.

There have also been a few reports of it taking ages to ship the product or not shipping it at all and leaving the customer uncertain.

How About Moosejaw Return And Exchange Policy?

Customers are free to return their Moosejaw products as long as the items are undamaged still in their original packaging. It also offers a time window of 30 days to return electronic items and 15 days for things like rooftop tents and drones.

However, some items cannot be returned. Some of these “unreturnable” items include foodstuff, gift cards, harnesses, ropes, and other kinds of load-bearing gear.

Moving on, in case an item is returned, the money is credited to the source from which the payment was originally made. However, returns received after 60 days are reimbursed in the form of a Moosejaw eGift Card, which is sent to the customer’s email.

In the case of exchanges, a note mentioning the details of the item sought to be received has to be sent with the original product.

Lastly, Moosejaw requires proof of purchase like a receipt, packing slip, etc., for any exchanges or returns. The items can either be mailed back to the company or dropped off at any of its stores, and a refund takes around 20 days to reflect in one’s account.

Moosejaw Reward Dollars

Moosejaw has a flourishing Rewards Program, which doesn’t cost any extra dollars to join. In addition to this, they even have a High-Altitude Rewards Program for people who spend a substantial amount of money on Moosejaw products.

How Do Moosejaw Reward Dollars Work?

Moosejaw gives Reward Dollars as part of their Rewards Program, and these can be used as regular money to buy anything from the Moosejaw store. In fact, while returning an item, these can be used to pay off the shipping fee.

How Long Do Moosejaw Reward Dollars Last?

These Reward Dollars expire after two years, and the amount gets deducted from the balance as and when the time comes. So, ensure that you use up all the Reward Dollars till then!
