Mountains of Music featuring Tamarama Special musical guest: Dj Golden b Thursday, June 4 6pm - Checkpoint Charlie, Vail Village
Taking their name from a little known Australian beach where they grew up, Tamarama’s Jay Lyon and Nicolas “Pottsy” Potts have nurtured a sound reflecting life on the shores of OZ. With a mix of folk, rock and reggae rhythms, breezy melodies and easy going lyrics, the duo’s music represents the tranquility of ocean living. Now based in New York, Tamarama’s vibe hasn’t strayed far from the beaches of home where their memories feed the music. New surroundings and its diversity have helped develop their sound, broaden their influences and deepen their style. Dj Golden b will kick off the evening with a custom mix of mash-up, hip hop and electro beats. Golden b is a regular with Red Bull and Oakley sporting events and is on the Dew Tour.
Mountains of Music featuring Meese Friday, June 5 This vibrant Denver-based band, comprised of brothers Patrick and Nathan Meese, incorporates their electronic personality with the rock genre to create a dynamic sound. Their debut album Broadcast covers a wide spectrum of stylistic interests; from guitar-driven rock to avant-garde electronic, from melodic piano pop to four-on-the-floor dance. Meese has played with Paramore and they toured with The Fray and Jack’s Mannequin in 2007. The Pete Kilpatrick Band is easily one of the best kept secrets on the indie music scene. They have shared the stage with the Dave Matthews Band, Guster, Blues Traveler, Dispatch and O.A.R. and their sound is a mixture of melodic and contagious rock that catches your soul.
