BLODGETT
Elevation 8,900 feet
A small forested campground located at the mouth of Homestake Valley. Homestake Creek is within walking distance for fishing. There are several trailheads within close driving distance.
CAMP HALE
Elevation 9,200 feet
Situated in a wide, flat valley surrounded by mountains, this campground is near the headwaters of the Eagle River. The campground is sparsely timbered with lodgepole pine. There are opportunities for fishing, mountain bike riding, rock climbing and hiking. Group and individual sites in the campground can be reserved.
GOLD PARK
Elevation 9,300 feet
This forested campground is located in the Homestake Valley along Homestake Creek. There are several trailheads near this campground.
GORE CREEK
Elevation 8,700 feet
Located in a forested canyon along Gore Creek, this campground is the most popular in the district because of its close proximity to Vail. Nearby there are several trails into the Eagles Nest Wilderness, and the Vail Pass-Ten Mile Canyon Recreation Trail is right at the entrance to the campground.
HORNSILVER
Elevation 8,800 feet
Right off Highway 24, between Minturn and Leadville, this campground lies along Homestake Creek in a forested setting.
LOST LAKE / PINEY RIVER RANCH
Located on the north side of the town of Vail off Red Sandstone Road, this White River National Forest offers access to mountain biking trails and trout fishing in Lost Lake and Piney Lake
SYLVAN LAKE STATE PARK
Elevation 8,500 feet
Two separate campgrounds on this beautiful 115-acre park put visitors close to trout fishing and boating on a 40-acre lake. Located 16 miles south of Eagle on the West Brush Creek Road. Cabins available.
TIGIWON
Elevation 9,900 feet
Located at the edge of a sub-alpine meadow on the boundary of the Holy Cross Wilderness, this forested campground overlooks the Gore Range. Trailheads for popular hikes are nearby.
